The car festival( Ratha Jatra) season has arrived. Wish you all a happy festival season. Come, and we will share some views about Puri, the centre point of the festival .



Chudangadev declared that King of Kalinga is Sri Jagannathdev and himself is a Samanta Raja. Rajadhiraj Sri Jagannathdev has his Capital in Nilachala (” Subarna Balukakirna Nila Parbata Shobhitam”) , situated in Sankha mandala (one of four Mandalas of Purusottam Khetra, other three Maddalas being Chakra Mandala -Bhubaneswara, Gadamandala –Jajpur, Pada mandala- Arka Khetra ).

The fotress of Lord Jagannatha situated on a plot of 10.7 Acres, have 2 tier security wall, Meghnad bedha & Kurma Bedha. Four gates are- Singha(Dharma) Duara, Ashwa (Karma) Duara, Byaghra(Teja) Duara, and Hasti(Aisharya) Duara.

Main Gate Singha Duara, is Deva Mandala. Next is Rahasya Mandala having” Baaisi Paahaacha”. 22 steps signifies Chaturdasha Bhubana & Asta Baikunta. 14 Bhubanas includes Sapta Bhubana of Urdha loka (i.e. Bhu, Bhuba, Swah, Mahah, Janah, Tapa & Satya)& Seven Talas of Adhaloka (i.e.Atala, Sutala, Bitala, Talaatala, Mahitala, Rasaatala & Paataala).

Asta Baikunthas are Sri Baikuntha,Kaibalya Baikuntha,Karunnarnaba Baikuntha,Sesha ShayeeBaikuntha , Sweta Deepa Baikuntha, Paraabyom Baikuntha , Garvadokasayee Baikuntha & Kailasha.

Met him in Kalinga Hospital where he now works on 6th May 2011. Though I stayed very much in front of Pradipta's Apollo Poly Clinic on Puri Road for a day, couldn't meet him.

Prafulla Bhaina superannuates today

These are the days most of our batchmates from MKCG are retiring. Today Prafulla and Bibhuti Pradhan will superannaute from their Govt. of Orissa and West Bengal jobs respectively. I have reasons to believe that both of them will do much better after retirement than what they have during their in-service periods. May God keep all my retiring friends and their spouse healthy.
Gosein was really happy that he is going to retire today and hosted a party in Hotel Tridev, Rourkela for family and friends.

He's atypical face we may not forget. I went to him with his address and when nearly 50 or more people were in queue to be examined by him.He didn't recognise me at first but later could. Just disturbed him to take a snap in his Jamshedpur office.

Pragyan is Madhuri's daughter and I met her in Prashanthi Nilayam, Puttaparthi.

Dr. Amulya Bisi is Madhuri's husband. Dr. Bisi has been renderering free service in Superspeciality Hospital, Puttaparthi for many years from time to time. I also requested for the same service and we both had been working since 16th March in the hospital but didn't meet. Dr. Prasad from Berhampur is also with Dr. Bisi.
