Obituary- Dr. Niranjan Debata

Born- 17th July 1948
Died- 7th April 2010 Very few people cracks jokes on himself. Debta used to call himself " Tokanka bhitare budha, Budhanka vitare toka.". I deeply condole sad demise of niranjan. Thanks to Mihir for providing the photograph, see attachment.-Bibhuti Yes, I fully agree with Bibhuti. He was a good man. I have very fond memories of our association and friendship with him. All of a sudden it seems we are losing friends. But truly speaking we are not that old. It is extremely important to think positive, follow a disciplined life and try to keep ourselves fighting fit and healthy. I wish and pray that we all continue to remain healthy, work with purpose, contribute to the society and see our children and grand children grow into adulthood. Truly speaking age is just a number. Everything depends on how we think. Let us all behave as if we are all "Buddhanka bhitare Toka". That will be a good tribute to Niranjan. Regards Ajit Very few of our friends would remember that Dr. Niranjan Debata was like an elder brother to me and Hemanta Kar. We were school mates and he was senior to us by three years. His younger brother, who is a Prof of Botany at Stewart College, is my classmate. Therefore I could never see and behave with him as a class mate. He was always protective to us like an elder brother. We fondly called him "Budha Nana" from our childhood days. In his sad demise, we have lost a friend as well as an elder brother. People of Salipur have lost a physician who had brought advanced medical care to their door steps. His popular Nursing Home at Salipur bears testimony to that. May his soul rest in peace and may God give his family strength to withstand this loss. Upendra I receprocate the condolence and pray for heavenly peace of his soul. Laxminiwas Prasad
