Bibhuti Baba's final discourse
Daly Puja, Special Puja & Occasional Pujas. All procedures, called NITI, are all documented in Srimandir Swatwalipi/ Madalapanji. There are as much as 22-24 Nitis. Let us see a few.
-At Dawn , about 5AM, Mangalarati, with 21 Pradip, done by three Pandas. Next Mailam, dress of previous nightis taken of. All “Good Night “ offerings, like Pana, Gua, Coconut water, called “Pahada” are removed.
-6-6.30AM- Abakasha Niti- danta Ghasa- Mango Tig- Just shown.
-Snana- Scented water sprinkled over the reflected image of deities on a glazed copper plate(mirror)
( In Mahasnan, all deities have real bath, daily soaking with water will rot wooden body)
-Again Mailam- New clothes are put on, Akhanda Pradip Lighted,
7-8AM- Besha Lagi- Different Beshas as per dress code as per Tithi round the year. Rosahoma, Surja Puja &
Dwarapal Puja at the same time.
9-9.30AM- Sakaala (Morning)Dhupa- After Golal Ballav Bhoga, Gupta Puja with Sadodhopachaar( Asana,
Swagata, Padya etc.) by only three Pandas. Jagannath with Gopal Archan Mantra, Balabhadra
withBasudev Mantra & Subhadra with ekakshari mantra.
1 PM- Madhyahna (Noon) Dhupa- As like Morning dhupa.
After lunch, deities have a nap of couple of hours.
5PM- Sandhyarati- Clothes changed & Gupta Puja.
8-9.30PM-Sandhya Dhupa- Jaya Mangala Arati after dinner. Again Snana Mela.
10 PM- Dress changed & Chandana lagi. Priests offer Tambula with”Manima… Manima” call.Bada
srungara besha done with Floral crown, Chandrika, Nakuasi, Kundala, Karapallaba & Tulasi Mala.(See attachment)
11PM- Bada Shrungara Dhupa- Sweets offered, 3 beds brought.
11.45-12MN- Shayana Niti- Nidradevi taken out, Pahada offered, Pandas Sing Good Night song.

Bibhuti Baba's discourse
Jaga - Balia are passionate foodlover. Love for Laxhmi is not that passionate, drives her away on differentoccasions, as when laxhmi went forManabasa Gurubara Osha from Bada Deula. As Rama, driven Sita to forest, asKrushns, left Radha, Throughout the day, they take as much as breakfat & 5meals.. Let us see Timing.
Jagannath does not take Tea. Rather he prefersbreakfast at 8AM- Ballav bhog or Bala bhog
10AM-Rajbhog/ Mandap Bhog
12 Noon- Chhatra Bhog
2 PM- Madhyanna bhog- Jagannath sleep for a few hours after this heavylunch. So no 2 hourly meal till
Evenining- Sandhyadupa Bhog
Night- Bada shrungar Bhog
Aforesaid Chhatra bhog is met from publicdonation , prepared by Supakar Samity. Chhatrabhoga may be prepared twice ormore as per demand for distribution among Bhaktas.
Rest are Kotha Bhoga, 4 times a day, met fromJaga’s own property & contribution of Thakura Raja of Puri. It is madeexlusively with pure Ghee, and distributed among the priests of the day andRoyal palace.
Theland lady of Bada Deula is Bimala.She gave permission to Jagannath to stay in the temple on the condition that, Prasad(Bhoga) offered to Jagannath mustagain be offered to Bimala. After this offering, Prasad becomes MAHAPRASAD,& can be shared by low caste & Brahmins from the same plate.
Bhoga offered to deity at Ratnabedionly becomes Mahaprasad, so Bhoga offered during Ratha Jatra is not Mahapradsad for this reason.
(Ratnabedi is mysteriously secretand most sacred. It is hollow and has a secret door. It is told that itcontains one lac Shalagram Shilas. It is abode of all Gods. In reality, Bhoga is offered to the Ratnabediitself. Who knows, if any day this secretdoor is opened, another Padmanavaswamy Temple of Tirubatapuram case may repeat !!)
Pachana - During sicknessfollowing Snanjatra during Anabasar, Jagannath takes Pachana. It is made of Cream, candy,water of green coconut, Sago, Cadamon, TejaPatra, leaves ofNeem, Amla,Kasaphala,Nutmeg, Kalmegh,Cannabis, Dalchini,Zinger, Honey,Pepper,mixed withmilk and water of Ganges.
Chhapan Bhoga- Dry Bhoga of 56 types, made in mandir itself.
(Jagannath is pure vegetarian,But Bimala is non-vege, During special Puja in Sarodatsab for 16 days, sheepis sacrificed, even Jagannatha shares theoffering as Bhairaba Durga Madhaba. )
I know that I am missing many things. Can any body spare few moments toannex ? Prafulla Bhaina !! are U listening?

Dress Code of deities- discourse by Bibhuti
Dress code of alldeities of the Big Temple has been documented in Gopalballava, Sutasanghita Naradiya Pancharatna & Madala Panji.All sorts of decoration, worship, offerings are done as per rule round the day& year. Let us see daily routine of dresses.
- In early morning at 5AM, after Mangalarati, Abakaash Besha with lightcotton cloth . This is followed bySahana mela
- Next is Beshalagi.Different Beshas on different days as per Tithi, will be discussed later.
- In afternoon, Prahara Besha
- After Sandhyarati, Badashrungar Besha.

Certainly RATHA JATRA is the main festival . But there aremany festivals round the year. Let us look it round the year.
-Chandan Jatra- Stars on Akshay Trutiya for 22 days.
-Jaistha Purnima- Snan Jatra- Next 15 days Jagannath suffersfrom fever. So Anabasar, i.e. no one can have Jagannathn Darsan. Godtakes Pachan from a Baidya and recovers.
-Ratha Jatra- Suklaa Dwitiyaa of Ashadha . Goes to GundichaMandir & returns on Dashami.
-Harishayan Ekadashi- Suklaa Ekadashi of Ashadha on the Chariot itself.
-Jhulan Jatra-Sukla Dasami of Shrabana.

The car festival( Ratha Jatra) season has arrived. Wish you all a happy festival season. Come, and we will share some views about Puri, the centre point of the festival .
Chudangadev declared that King of Kalinga is Sri Jagannathdev and himself is a Samanta Raja. Rajadhiraj Sri Jagannathdev has his Capital in Nilachala (” Subarna Balukakirna Nila Parbata Shobhitam”) , situated in Sankha mandala (one of four Mandalas of Purusottam Khetra, other three Maddalas being Chakra Mandala -Bhubaneswara, Gadamandala –Jajpur, Pada mandala- Arka Khetra ).
The fotress of Lord Jagannatha situated on a plot of 10.7 Acres, have 2 tier security wall, Meghnad bedha & Kurma Bedha. Four gates are- Singha(Dharma) Duara, Ashwa (Karma) Duara, Byaghra(Teja) Duara, and Hasti(Aisharya) Duara.
Main Gate Singha Duara, is Deva Mandala. Next is Rahasya Mandala having” Baaisi Paahaacha”. 22 steps signifies Chaturdasha Bhubana & Asta Baikunta. 14 Bhubanas includes Sapta Bhubana of Urdha loka (i.e. Bhu, Bhuba, Swah, Mahah, Janah, Tapa & Satya)& Seven Talas of Adhaloka (i.e.Atala, Sutala, Bitala, Talaatala, Mahitala, Rasaatala & Paataala).
Asta Baikunthas are Sri Baikuntha,Kaibalya Baikuntha,Karunnarnaba Baikuntha,Sesha ShayeeBaikuntha , Sweta Deepa Baikuntha, Paraabyom Baikuntha , Garvadokasayee Baikuntha & Kailasha.
