Gosein was really happy that he is going to retire today and hosted a party in Hotel Tridev, Rourkela for family and friends.

In the year 1970 some 100 of us went from differnt parts of Orissa and outside to study medicine in Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Medical College, Berhampur. In the course of time some changed course, some have gone to heavenly abode and some have achieved high laurels in the field of Medicine. This blog is about them, their family members and related events in picture.

Dear Prafulla Bhaina and Sadasiv,
ReplyDeleteIt is really touching to see these photos, and to learn about the retirement of Prafulla Bhaina and Bibhuti Pradhan. We all of MKCG 1970 batch owe a lot to Sadsiv for keeping us posted about these memorable events.
We entered the field of medicine in 1970,so time has come for us to retire, some now,for some in later years.
'Retirement is the time point when a person is out of his/her chosen employment.'In no way,it takes away our liberty and choice to engage ourselves in professional and other areas.
We have been lucky to serve the society as a doctor in our chosen area/place of professional life.
A family doctor in Canada retired after 42 years of serving a small suburban community. The email, letters from his patients at time of retirement, reflect the attributes which are remembered by them:
1.BEING THERE-'you always had time for us..'
2.CARING-'the compassion and care you have shown to me'
3.MEDICAL EXPERTISE-'I have trusted your judgement...'
4.PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS-'you made us feel like we are the most important people for you'
5.MULTIPLE ROLES-'you have been our healer, helper and friend'
6.DOCTOR FOR FAMILY-'you care for my health and understood my family'
7.CONTINUITY-'you were there as a healer and friend for most of my life'
Much though I must admit,it takes a lot to have all these 7 attributes.
One small point about the photo, there is halo around Sadasiv's left eye.Looks like has he gone to a higher level of achievement in life.
May you and family have the best of health and mind.Love to all.
