ReplyDeleteDear Sadasiv,and Bibhuti
It is such a pleasant thing to see the photos of my batch mates,Bibhuti Pratap and Pratap Mahanta.
Have I told you the funny story: sometime in 1999-2000,may be all those years after our passing MBBS in 1976,our Pratap Mahant was here in AIIMS doing a training in Dr.RP Centre of AIIMS.I went to the centre's opd for my own ophthalmology consultation with a Prof. there. He got up to introduce me"pl meet Dr.P.Mahanta from Orissa,...(and to Pratap)-our colleague here.. BK Mohanti ". Promptly, the good, abiding and innocent Pratap said to me"Namaskar,Sir".Getting over my initial embarassment(and shock),I blurted"aarrre...Pratap bhaina...kauthi accha aaji kaali,mun...heli Bidhu...".The optha prof was very pleased to have helped (in Hindi filmi style)"bichhadta hua do doston ka milan". Of course,in later years Pratap Mahant has come to Delhi and we have met together fondly.
Warm wishes.
Bidhu Mohanti
