Dear All,
We are pleased to announce that Dr. B.K.Mohanti has joined us as Director & HOD– Radiation Oncology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon. Dr. Mohanti is an MBBS Graduate from MKCG Medical College, Behrampur and completed his MD (Radiotherapy) from P.G.I.M.E.R., Chandigarh in 1983. With a rich experience of over 30 years to his credit, Dr. Mohanti has worked as a Radiation Oncologist and also as Faculty since 1985 at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore and AIIMS, New Delhi. He was also invited by the Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman to establish the first Radiotherapy department and set up patient care at the National Oncology Center from March 2004 to March 2006. His last assignment was with AIIMS, New Delhi as Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology. He has over 135 publications in national & international journals to his credit and also actively participates in Conferences and CMEs. His research has been extensively published in Head & Neck Cancer, Gastro-intestinal Cancers, Brain Tumors, Lung Cancer, Sarcomas, Paediatric Neoplasm, Brachytherapy and Palliative Care. He is also an Expert for the European Commission. He is married to Tulika, a Masters in Literature and they are blessed with one daughter, Sriya, who has completed her Masters in Environmental Studies from Europe and is currently working in India. He has a keen interest in Theatre, reading literature and listening to music. Dr. HK Kar takes over as Director of PGIMER, New Delhi
Hemanta was appointed as Director of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi on 1st February 2013.
He took over from Dr. TS Sidhu.
